gibson les paul custom silverburst

any thoughts from the members about this guitar? APparently it is limited edition produced this year from the custom shop? are the pickups the same as the les paul custom(490, 498) and is there a long tenon?
lastly, what is a good price for it? I have seen about $3200,

its not fro he custom shop and no long tenon. its got 57's. i wouldnt pay anything over 2500.

i believe you are referring to the classic custom( there is also a silverburst version of this from Gibson USA),which has no pickguard. The one I am referring to has a black pickguard and has abalone inlays at the first fret as well. I have talked to a person at Centre city music regarding the guitar and it is custom shop, I just don't know what type of pickups it has.

yes that is the one, but MF and GC always charge more, anyone have a good idea what a good non-MF/GC price may be?

I looked at it at GC as well, very nice axe.
Thought $3,200 was bit much as well, but I really
do like that finish. I saw an older video of Adam Jones
from Tool who had an LP in that finish.

Good luck, go try to swindle them down @ GC in person.

You are going to have a hard time finding someone seller lower than Guitar Center / Musicians Friend unless you buy off ebay.

MF prices are the lowest ive seen other than people
selling thier own, the thing lists for $5,245 so $3,339 is
a big discount.
Custom Shop Customs are expensive period much less a
Limited Edition.

The silverburst Les Pauls are Norlin RI's. They were made from 1979 until 1982.

You are talking about the Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom in Silverbust, not to be confused with the Les Paul Classic Custom in Silverburst. For some reason they want to use 490r and 498t pups in there. They are too high output and they sound muddy, you can get some much better sounding high output pups from Seymour Duncan or any of the other hundred pickup manufacturers.

The 2003 Sams Ass version has burst buckers...will someone else in the rare circle of 250 please step up? Who else has one? Mine is CS40041. Gibson is non-responsive to my query. I think that the 2003 is the only silverburst LPC with ebony back, neck and sides.

No offense, but I don't care for anyone's offhand posts. If you can't contribute to the answer of my query, don't start hitting the keyboard with reasons why you wish you had a silverburst, thinly veiled in arrogance and stupidity. Just STFU.

Hi I bought one of these a couple of years ago.. or at least I thought it was a Sam Ash Custom limited ed. Here she is (attached pic).

Here's the serial:

Bit concerned though, as I thought the custom shop guitars had CS at the start of the serial, and this one doesn't.

Any advice?

Its a 2003. CS serials started in 2004. you got the last year of the non custom shop customs
