Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

Killer. I saw the red/black version the other day at a local Sam Ash but it was about $4000 more than I need to spend on a guitar right now......

Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

Looks killer, except for the gold hardware. I just don't get it. I think they'd look so much better with chrome or black hardware.

Aged or matte nickel would look killer too.

I could live with the gold though.

A bit TOO much blue for me. I've never been that big a fan of blue anyway.

Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

Yeah the gold looks a little tacky on this or any other blue LP IMO, chrome or black would be sweet though.

I agree, gold knobs needed too. And maybe a blue fretboard.

Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

Yeah, not an avid fan of blue LP's but I saw that during the week and it could change my mind.
The quilted flame and the colour reaction to it looks great.
The headstock inlays are coloured as well as the binding.
The fretboard shading doesn't look great against it but you could always darken it with some oil.
Been out since the start of the year with green and red versions but they don't look as sharp as the blue.

There was a green one on the recent thread on Custom Shop pictures. I thought it was Iguana Burst at first, but they called it Green Widow.

Beautiful. If I already didn't have a blue swirl Anniversary Flood Les Paul Studio, I'd be checking out one of these. I love blue guitars, but don't think I need 2 blue Les Pauls......well, it's not about need then, is it? Hmmmmm.......

I would like it better if the binding was white.

+1...the white binding would be a nice contrast to that gorgeous quilted blue top.

Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

What are the big differences between the X-Widows same as Les Paul Class Vs? Big flames and big quilted tops, besides the obvious that the binding is color scheme andthe binding. Both are sure nice.

Re: Les Paul Custom Blue Widow

I think it would have popped more if they had scraped the dye off the binding and made it white.
