Pay no attention to the Ol' Man.He's one of those artsy-fartsy,sensitive new age hippy types. Sips his whiskey with his pinky extended,I'm told. You know the type. |

Oh my god. If I had the money I'd be willing to buy that beauty off you right now! Haha, I probably wouldn't even sell her at all, but, you ought to be looking at the 2.5-3k mark like everyone else has said so far, I reckon. =)

Re: What is this Les Paul Custom Worth Today?
Ah giving an inanimate object a male/female connotation. A subject for a completely different thread.
It also depends on how quickly you want to sell it. The demographic you are shooting for is a small but passionate one. Find the right buyer and you will see a good chunk of change. I on the other hand am not your demographic. I see an old guitar that needs a lot of new hardware. Its all old and worn. I would give you 250 bucks and that's only if the body was good as I am going to upgrade everything to new hardware and electronics. Yeah I am that guy. On a related note, how do you guys value something like this? I mean is it market value? What you feel you would pay for it? Or are you just pulling a number out of thin air? I am not trying to be a dick either. I am genuinely curious as I have an old Kramer KS-400 in about the same shape and I couldn't give that thing away. |

I'm curious where this 3k number is coming from. I could see a guitar shop throwing that kind of inflated price tag on it. But as we all know you can have a asking price doesn't mean your going to get it.

Re: What is this Les Paul Custom Worth Today?
There's a lot of confusing "value" and "worth" in this thread.
eta: As a correction, it's not so much confusing value and worth, but talking past each other by using different connotations. |

Hey, I'd figure River as a possible scotch drinker like myself!

Re: What is this Les Paul Custom Worth Today?
Well, I'd think a late era Norlin is more likely a better LP than the 70's era ones which often go for around 3K. They are still on the vintage borderline at nearly 30 years old but won't have some of the nagging discrepancies the 70's (especially early to mid 70's ones ) have.

Re: What is this Les Paul Custom Worth Today?
I sold it! (It would be a her if it were still mine) It did need a fret job so I let it go for $2,550. Get this... I sold it to a store in Utah!.?!? I guess he will be trying to re-sell it for big bucks!
This is my 76' White/Black with the perfect round neck. "She" is the one that gets fondled daily...
