Don't go to that guy's house. You'll catch something.

Case looks fine to me, for having no handle.

It's a legit custom shop LP case. Just don't try to get a legit custom shop handle for it. It probably will cost more than the case.

And that's the reason I wouldn't buy anything from him. A friend of mine knows someone who lives in an absolute pigsty. Mountains of garbage all over his flat and little bugs living in there. This guy came round to his house for a few beers one night and when he left, there were little bugs on the couch where he was sitting.

The poor guy has let himself go, and would be able to call Leslie West skinny. My friend offered to help clear the place out for the guy, but he declined as he is embarrassed about it.

The seller's house isn't anywhere near as messy as that guy's house, but I still wouldn't take anything from it.

Re: Is this Gibson Historic Hard Case legit?

So is that a set up on a new string or a set up AND a new string?

I like the bottom of the bottom picture that looks like green outdoor carpet with shag carpet baseboards. Or is that a poodle stuck behind the couch?

Re: Is this Gibson Historic Hard Case legit?

well guys, i went over and looked at his case. i type this on my phone because i am still there. i've been pushed down some kind of underground cave or well. buckets with bottles of lotion inside keep getting lowered down...

but the case is awesome, and the string is KILLER! it was professionally set up by a former tech for limp biscuit. he's got papers.

Hopefully he's not trying to sell his G-String!
Is that his red swimsuit with white lining at the top of the case?

Just spray whatever you buy with Lysol. And wear earplugs, all those critters might end up screaming pretty loud when it hits 'em.

Yup... even if he had one of the lost bursts for $500, I wouldn't dare......

no man thats the underside of the carpet rolled up against the wall.

that case has no handle! if you buy it and put your guitar in it you will never be able to bring it anywhere!!

I'd feel like wiping my feet before stepping OUT of that guy's house. I mean like, it it so hard to at least clear off the area you're taking pics in?

but yes that's a legit case.

+1.

This reminds me of when I sold my Epi S-500. I got a call from a guy, not too far from me, who really wanted it. And, after making the deal, he asked (due to health-problems - he was an older guy) if I could bring the guitar to him? I obliged, and my wife and I took it to him. When we pulled up to his house, it didn't look too bad, but as soon as we walked in, we were both like .

Now, I grew up in some pretty "rough" (total understatement) conditions, but this guy's house made my experiences seem like paradise. I'm not going to get into all the details, but I did notice that he definitely loved guitars, because there were about 20 of them lined up in his living room.

Long story short: After we left, we had seriously considered burning our clothes.

Re: Is this Gibson Historic Hard Case legit?

That looks right. The fake China cases have more of a hump to them, and an easy way to tell in real life is to just wet your finger and rub the lettering. On the fake China cases it comes right off.
