Les Paul and Me
So my basement flooded on the Fourth of July, which was nearly a disaster, as all my guitars and amps were down there. The good news is that my guitars (Les Paul Classic Plus and American Strat) were on guitar stands and were thus barely out of harm's way. Among the bad news (aside from all my pedals being fried) was that this cherished picture of Les Paul and me (circa 9 years ago), wasn't so lucky and has some prety significant water damage. It's in ok shape, and I will certainly take it to a photo restoration professional, but I thought y'all would enjoy it. Maybe I'll post an "after" photo once I get it fixed. FYI, the photo was taken at the Iridium in NYC, where Les used to play on Monday nights. Cheers.

Re: Les Paul and Me
Sorry to hear about the flood. Thanks for posting.
I had a computer crash last year. I only lost about 10% of my data, but it could have been way worse. People, if you have precious photos or documents, please do yourselves a favor and scan them into a digital copy. Then back up the computer where they usually live. These technological tools are so easy and cheap . . . you will be kicking yourself if your computer crashes and you have to spend hundreds of dollars for data recovery services . . . or lose it all. Peace Rex |

Re: Les Paul and Me
I hope you have a good sense of humor and realize there are many jokes to be made around that pic.
![]() But I'll leave it at that. Sorry about the flooding. It's always a big deal. If you have insurance, call the pros. All that's been wet must be super dry and all sheetrock, insulation has to be replaced. Beware of mold, eventually.

Re: Les Paul and Me
Hope the photo can be restored.
For years I have kept my guitars above floor level for that very reason--no matter what floor they've been on... Glad the guitars are okay.
