I need your expert help

I have found a Gibson Les Paul Custom in a local pawn shop...It looks like the REAL DEAL..BUT...there is NO Made in the U.S.A on the back of the head stock, only a serial number....other than that it has all the Gibson isignia and the two hole truss rod cover..it is a beautiful guitar...but is it real or fake?

Also, if it's in a pawn shop, make sure it isn't stolen.

I'm sure that is NOT stolen....the pawn shops here in Dallas Texas have a direct hot line to the police hot line..I didn't jot down the serial number but I will be back..it won't be available for sale for about 5 more days, and the price is yet to be determinded,,,the ol' boy behind the counter estimated that it was pawned for somewhere around $200....But we will see?
But...is that normal for there NOT to be the "Made in the U.S.A" on a Gibson?
Every Gibson that I've seen has it stamped on the head stock...best I can remember....But

It's not normal unless it's a Custom Shop model or a real '68-sometime in the early '70s. A regular CS Custom will have CS starting the #. If it's a '68 reissue, it won't have CS. Write it down when you see it again. Take a few pics if you can.

No Custom Shop models have Made in the USA on them.

Ok I will take some pics....I'm afraid to draw to much attention to it..the ol' boy behind the counter may get wise and jack the price WAY up! (he thinks it's a fake also)...don't remember seeing CS in front of the number. Hell, even if it is a fake...I may get it anyway..it looks too damn good to pass up.

My 1970 Custom has no made in USA stamp. Most Chinese fakes I have seen DO. Be cool, don't alert the bubba that runs the place....and score!
