Helping Determing Les Paul Model
I came across a picture of a beautiful Les Paul but it didn't have any information about it. I want to know more about what series it is and the name of the finish.
It looks like the metallic blue, but I'm not sure. Can anybody give any information on it?

Re: Helping Determing Les Paul Model
Looking at it a little harder, it looks like it could be a Norlin. Cutaway is a little pointy, and it has huge frets. It might be a routed Deluxe from the '70s.

Re: Helping Determing Les Paul Model
The green pehlam blue was an aged custom shop deal, not the
true pehlam blue. It's an interesting color, not a blue fan, but I really like it. Fretboard looks ebony, but that might just be the lighting. |

Re: Helping Determing Les Paul Model
They made a few in this color in the early 80's, about 81-83. This one has the sharper cutaway, that they had at the time. This color is not Pelham, but rather a Candy Blue. They also made them in Candy Red. Used to have one, stupidly sold it, but that was long ago.

Re: Helping Determing Les Paul Model
Another thread also pointed me towards the early 80's models too. Similar to this model:
1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard ![]() Thank you all for the great, helpful info. |
