struggling to find the right Bridge pup for lp
Hi
I'm new around here. Was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest some ideas for a bridge pickup for my early 70's goldtop. Its been "standardised". The guitar is quite bright and resonant and i need a pickup that delivers a vintage tone, but without sounding too shrill. Looking for a PAF tone/output Neck pickup is a late 60's t top and sounds amazing, although is quite high output. So far I've tried... Duncan Antiquity - not enough output to match the neck. I switched the magnet to an alnico V but just made it brighter and sounding too thin. (sounds great on my heavy 73 deluxe tho!) (think its about 8.5k) BKP Black Dog - right amount of output, too middley and not enough paf bite (think this is around 10k) Duncan custom custom - too much output for me! (this is 14+k!!) Any suggestions?!! Much appreciated!!! thanks Dave |

Try WB pickups.
WB Custom Pickups: guitar pickups wound by hand Don't know if they ship to England though. |
