60's tribute fans:1st run 60's trib's w/rosewood still available at MF
I thought the first run 60's tributes were long gone but I happened on them at MF in stock and in most every color other then the Honeyburst. This is the pre govt. raid with the natural backs and the rosewood freatboard. I thought there might be others that are fans of this wonderful goodlooking and sounding extreme budget guitar. I don't like the dark back versions and if you don't here is a chance to get one out of the box from that first run. Here is a link for any 60's tribute fans that might have interest and thought they were unavailable new.
MF: Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Electric Guitar | Musician's Friend They even have the fairly coveted Gold Top so if you have a gas as they say, jump on it cause what they have is it and when there gone that it. They have them listed at $850 but you can get them to $737 or so with free shipping. I have twin sister Limited Run 60's tributes and just love them to death. I have a P-90 HB and a soon to be mini humbucker Goldtop thats been polished. I would recomend them to anyone that doesn't have the payola to spring for a standard and don't like the non binding look of the less expensive $1500 Studios. The pre raid tribs had what I'll call natural wood binding and it really sets the guitar into another level of beauty. Features listed: Features

I would likely have bought one of those gold tops if I had known they exist without the black backs. The black backs don't appeal to me.
I ended up buying a Classic Custom LP Goldtop, and I'm glad. It's amazing to me. But the 60's Tribute in your picture would be really, really nice too. And the PRICE!!!! holy cow! |

I got the last gold top with natural back from Musicians Friend. One piece back. I am happy with it but with regards to the OP, it says it was made in 2012.
