Mick Mars gold top w/Floyd Rose

I watched a classic concert on VH1 yesterday of Motley Crew and Mick Mars did the encore of Helter Skelter on a Gold top with a Floyd Rose. Dont know if it was one of those new Axcess models. Mars usually plays a Strat. Great show.

What year was the concert from?

And aren't those Axcess LPs new? Not sure as I know little about them.

I love Motley Crue. Went to Crue Fest in July....totally awesome. Mick is an interesting creature, but he can still wail despite his crippling disease....pretty amazing really.

Mick is the coolest. I've never seen that show...Always think of Mick playing a Les Paul. He just doesn't look the same with a strat.

Damn, I had borrowed that DVD from a friend a few months ago but never made it to the encore before I gave it back.

Re: Mick Mars gold top w/Floyd Rose

Its probably older. There were alot of pauls with floyds and kahlers foating around in the 80's.

Mick's great. One of my favorite players.

Too Fast For Love - His guitar tone on that album screams 80's sleaze metal.

Love it!

No for real its a Gretch, I saw them on the Carnival of Sins tour where he was wearing that outfit and playing that guitar, I was front row in front of Mick and it was a Gretch.

No, for real. It's a Gibson. I know he was using a Gretsch on that tour, so you did see him playing one live, but the one in that video is a Gibson.

I don't remember the exact model, but I believe in the '80s there was a variation of the Standard with dot inlays. In the screen captures I took, I can see several features. I know it has a bound body and neck, a carved (rather than flat) top, dot inlays, and in the last photo you can see where the tailpiece studs were, so the Floyd is a mod and not factory.
