Ummm... How old is this Slash?!?!?

Buy Gibson Custom Shop Slash Les Paul Signature Guitar at Musician's Friend

Isn't the version with the piezo bridge from 2004?
Zzounds and Music123 have them as well. WTF?

Re: Ummm... How old is this Slash?!?!?

The are a few years old, not sure exactly. They realized that it was way over priced in my opinion and then came out with the standard in 08. I see that they have marked them down even more. They were like $4200 last I saw.

They're not limited production.

That's the Slash LP I'd buy if I wanted a Slash guitar...and if I had $4,000 to spend.

It's to dark for me and the acoustic pickup is not something that I want.

The GT is a winner or the VOS one

Re: Ummm... How old is this Slash?!?!?

I liked the LP when i first saw it and thought about trying to buy it. Then I was reading all the info on it and just couldn't spend the money mainly because of the fishman powerbridge.

The reviews written about it were composed by those of substandard literary skills... Typical Slash fans...

I did the research before as well and felt the same way. You could probably save yourself at least 1.5k-2k if you buy a used Standard or Classic and add the SD Alnico Pickups and the Fishman Powerbridge. Sure it wouldn't be exactly like the Slash Sig but it would be damn close and you'd be saving a shitload of cash.

You'd have to buy a used R8, since that's what it's more or less based on. Then you'd have to get the neck recarved with a modified '59 carve. Then you'd have to get the Powerbridge and powerchip installed, along with the Alnico II Pros.

I bought a Slash Sig back in 2005. It's a phenomenal Lester. I paid $3200 for it and it's worth every penny.

I have one and in no way would you get there with a Standard or Classic...

Agreed, you'd need to start with an R8!

Just curious...why an R8 and not an R9.

When I said what I said I hadn't really taken the neck carve into consideration to much. I was just saying it would save you a shitload to drop some Duncan's and a powerbridge into a standard and classic and you could save yourself some money. It may not be exactly like a slash model but hey. For 2k less you probably couldn't complain.

Mostly due to the top... but I suppose an R9 would get you there, too.
