Ace Frehley Budokan body jig saw puzzle...
Hey Guys,
I have a Budokan on layaway, and I'm bringing her home soon. I read on the Gibson website that the Budokan has a three-piece maple top, which is pretty obvious. But it also described the body as being a four-piece body (Mahogany, Maple, Mahogany, Maple).Does anyone have a pic or diagram of what four-piece body construction looks like, please? Thanks! -Bryan |

Courtesy of Vintage Guitar Info -
1976 Les Paul Standard specs: Four piece pancake body (maple top, thicker mahogany layer, thin maple layer, thicker mahogany layer), 2 standard humbuckers pickups, 3 piece maple top, tuneomatic bridge, "Standard" on truss rod cover, cherry sunburst, wine red, natural or tobacco sunburst top finish. A good read for you HERE |

Re: Ace Frehley Budokan body jig saw puzzle...
I understand stacking two pieces of mahogany, it's like matching two pieces side by side, but why the thinner piece of maple between the two?
EDIT: Lowdown's link answered my question. |
