NGD.. Les Paul STD Quilt Top Regal Purple

Played almost every Les Paul in Nashville today and came home with this one. It's a 2011 LP Standard Quilt Top Regal Purple. I've been on the hunt for a good LP standard for the last 6 month and I'm super happy with this Standard. This one has a one piece back and BB's 1 and 2 pups, weights exactly 9 lbs, and push pull coil taps on both volume controls. I really liked that there's not really a drop in volume when you use the coil taps. I have AB'd my PRS SC245 that I've had for awhile with all kinds of Paul's and my conclusion is this... The Les Paul just sounds better all around I think in every department. Been playing it for hours and just now getting to my NGD thread. Oh, and I got a killer deal regardless but got a super killer deal from there being a couple dings on the back of the body. I'm a PRS man at heart but... I got the Les Paul fever man and the only remedy for it is MORE LES PAUL!!

Thanks to all for the comments. Going on about 4 hours sleep from playing it all night. My jam room REEKED of fresh nitro this morning when I walked it. The smell reminds me of my younger days of playing but I'm not sure why. I've never owned a nitro guitar that I know of, but I have owned a bunch of different Fender guitars so maybe one of them had nitro. Never knew a Les Paul could have so much clarity and warmth. I have always though PRS excelled in that department, but this LP has it galore!! You can have FULL on gain and play complex chords with little soloing with strumming and hear ever note perfect and sustain for days. I'll probably have a bunch more questions since this is actually the first LP I have ever owned. Thanks for all the help and questions everybody answered. I came the My Les Paul forums first to do research and can say that most people I talked to a really cool and super helpful. THANKS

I also have this guitar in the same finish. I love it and consider it to be one of the best players that I own. The neck fits like a glove and BB1/BB2 pups just might be my favorite Gibson pickup combination. I chose this one over some much more expensive guitars at the time.

Hey what a coinsedence that I was discussing a new standard with you in my other posts before I bought this one. Same guitar color and everything that's crazy. Yes the neck is so comfortable and thing plays like a dream. Never seem a Les Paul with the top poppin so much with the quilt. I'll give a tone report tonight probably after work and record some demos. Thanks for your help.

Looks WAY better in person. I never though I would have liked the color either but once you get up on it looks great. I was looking for a natural back LP that wasn't red but totally natural and I like purple so it's a win win for myself. Got the salesman down way far for a seriously killer discount also cause there's a couple dings on the back.
