Supreme Value
How much would a 2003 LP Supreme from Nashville be worth if it is in ok condition (some fissures in the finish, gold is worn off the edge of the bridge from playing, some minor scratches here and there)....needs to get cleaned up and setup? I know in excellent condition they are going for around $2000 (If my research is correct). Can anyone give me an idea or point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Re: Supreme Value
OK. I got some pictures. I was wrong... There are no fissures in the finish of the body. However, there are some belt scratches and playing scratches on the body. Also, there are some cracks in the finish around the edge of the headstock. The frets seemed ok, although the binding does not meet the frets perfectly (and maybe it isn't supposed to). I restrung it and played it and it plays great. Pickups are responsive and the pots don't crackle and they are also responsive.
I took off the trussrod cover and it seems to be a legitimate supreme. I was concerned that it may be a fake, but I am fairly certain it is real. After reading horror stories from others I was apprehensive about the instrument. It also comes with a real Gibson case. Any ideas on how much this instrument would sell for? |

Re: Supreme Value
Yep, first year was 2003. It was something that they were going to see how they faired before it went further. It was so well received that there was backorders for them. Contrary to popular belief, there was ALOT or research behind exactly how much to chamber, etc..... Good luck!

Re: Supreme Value
There was one at a collector's auction in NC 3 weeks ago that appeared to be in perfect condition. It was a 2004 and went for $2320 with the buyer's premium.

Re: Supreme Value
Just one question:
where do "supremes" fit at the "Gibson quality scale"? Between Standards and Customs? Silly question?

Re: Supreme Value
I'd happily buy a Supreme if it wasn't chambered and was the "modern weight relief." Indeed, it would be my gold standard. If possible, I'll do it myself by replacing all the trim on my '12 Std but not experienced enough with modding.
