I simply stated I can hear the difference between the two and i don't believe it's a fair comparison between an Acoustic and Electrified instrument , period. No test over the internet is going to convince me like standing in a recording studio with professionals getting real results right there live.

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
I've read it, and I do understand.
I was merely stating that it was sort of odd how the thread went from LP Studios to Stradivarius.

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
I love Gibson Les Paul Studios. I mean LOVE them.
I currently have 4 and I have sold about 4. I wish that I could have them all back. In fact, I have a fantastic 1982 Les Paul Deluxe and if I could have 3 of the Studios back that I let go and magically trade the fantastic '82 Deluxe I'd probably push the 'go' button. Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
I knew this guy who wanted a studio just to have the name of Gibson on his headstock. I think they're good guitars actually. I think the only reason why most people who have better models hate the studio is cause it would be like playing a walmart guitar after playing an original burst! I mean why would they want to go back to something lower than what they already have right? I'm not saying they're crap but maybe to others, they are. But it doesn't matter what others think! Hell if you love it, play it.

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
Studios are very nice guitars.. But I bet I could not tell the difference between a Studio and Standard (from the factory) easily if blind folded.. The neck and the frets feel much different.

And enough of the Chambered vs. Solid vs. Weight Relieved crap already. Neither one of you is gonna convince the other to change their mind or admit something that they've rejected. Some people like $2500 Standards, some like $5000 Customs. I'm pretty damn happy with my $800 Studio. In the end who gives a shit?

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
Studios rule! A decent player can sound just as good on a studio as he will on a standard. IMO, the real difference is that you need to play what inspires you. If you're a guy who plays a studio but really has a jones for a higher end Les Paul (no matter what the reason - not important) then you're not going to be totally happy playing a studio.
The plain-jane'ness of my studio really floats my boat and I honestly have no desire to own a fancier LP - at least not right now. This thing sounds killer, it's fairly light and it plays like buttah!

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
Well there you go , you don't care .
You might as well buy a Balsa Wood LP with countertop fretboard material and play it through a First Act amp. And that's my exact point , they would'nt sound the same because they are not built the same.

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
I am aware of people who think they can hear the difference in which way a cable is plugged in, and others who use rubber bands on their effect pedals because they think it sounds better than using the original screws; others yet who think that a solder joint needs to burn in for a few hundred hours before it really starts to sound good.
They must be miserable. |

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
dude, relax! I'm just saying I don't care if they sound different, I'm not saying it's OK if they sound like shit! My Studio sounds great. It might sound different than other LP's but it sounds great. I have a good ear and I have good tone. A lot of players that I respect agree with that. Saying I should "buy a Balsa Wood LP with countertop fretboard material and play it through a First Act amp" is a bit insulting. Methinks you care a bit too much about what guitars people play. How about we all just make music and have a good time?

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
OK, this is from a gig a few weeks back. I had 2 guitars at the gig: a Trad Pro that belongs to a good friend of mine ( he wants me to buy it) and my Studio Faded. we played 39 songs and the guitars were used pretty much equally. Which one did I play here:

Re: Why do people hate LP Studios?
I hope you haven't bought it yet only because I played 3 or 4 Joe Bonamassa signature LP Studios. He has higher end models but those studios were better than the custom shop guitars that GC had that day. Those were also the favorite guitars for all of the workers there. They just felt really good. I am usually not one to jump on signature models and usually steer away from them but that Joe B studio was killer!!! You should snag one up and never look back. No mods required if you have the amp and pedal(s) that push for metal. I could rip Mastadon all day with this guitar (I am a blues jazz guy but just got turned on to them and having fun playing some of their stuff).
