Ngd refin !!!
Snagged my second BFG goldtop in the past two weeks for refin projects....I bought this one with sole intentions of refin and re-sale. But it turned out so well, not sure if I can part with it. I was trying to capture the "boneyard vibe", still lacks the cream switch washer and amber tip, but you get a good feel for it now. It has a moderate amount of flame in the top, the ridges are now pretty much gone. I like it much better than the boring stock finish.

Re: Ngd refin !!!
I rarely have any criticism for NGDs or re-finishes, if you're stoked with your guitars, I'm stoked for you.
And that's the way I felt about this guitar until I saw your ebay listing. To me, it makes a lot of sense to buy a BFG or a Vintage Mahogany or the like and re-finish it the way you want it, with the aim of keeping it yourself. That's actually something I want to do myself, and that's why I was surfing the 'bay in the first place, to maybe pick up a BFG. But this I don't get. I really doubt your re-finish is going to add value to anyone besides yourself. I seriously doubt you'll get $895 for it. But good luck with that. Sincerely. Peace Rex |

Maybe not, but the last two BFG's Ive refin'ed fetched $895 shipped, just figured Id start out the same on this one and work my way down if need be. And one of those was in a gigbag, not a factory case. The "watchers" are already stacking up. |

Re: Ngd refin !!!
Compared to the two above yours in the auction, yours looks like a bargain.

But it's not an Etch-a-Sketch. Every time you re-finish, you're taking off a little wood. Peace Rex |

Re: Ngd refin !!!
Sat looking at this for a few minutes. At first I thought it looked like an burning open pussing, bloody wound ......
The more I look at it, the more I like it. No idea why.....I just like it's raw ugliness. ![]() Plus, the pup configuration is great. I'd play it and I don't want to like it....but I do.
