Slash Dilema

Hey still on the hunt for my first gibson. Just saw kernelofwisdom's new goldtop and am so tempted to get one. Found one on the net, last one apparently and dunno whether to go through with it. My major concern is the fact I wouldn get a chance to play it first? Currently have the epiphone slash tobacco sunburst and love it. The price seems to be the same as the new 08 standards. So confused. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sorry folks this has turned out to be a completely pointless tread, after some consideration ive decided to take the plunge and go for it. Im so excited. Cant wait to get it. Thanks to kernelofwisdom for the pictures, hope mine looks as good as yours. Cant wait to get it

You got the last one? Man if that's true, you will always be able to sell it if you have buyer's remorse, so I'd say you did good. Let me know if you decide to sell it.

Will do, was the last one they had at that store. Went on the gibson website this morning to see what shops in the UK had them. There were four listed, phoned them all this morning, was going to give up until I decided to phone the last one, said they only had one left. So just took a chance. Been wantin a Gibson for the past couple of months but didn't know what to do, new standard, old standard, new traditional.........so have taken a chance on this. Fingers crossed its a good one!!!

You should be happy. There's enough going on with this one to separate it from the herd, Slash name or not. Tennon pix up now in my thread. Looking forward to seeing yours and what you think of it. Also looking forward to playing mine!

Yeah jus had a look at your pics again just now kernelofwisdom, bit jealous that you've got yours already!!! Cant wait to hear your oppinions of how it plays. Got to say it was your pics that swayed me, pics so far are brilliant. Its hard to get a good idea of how it will look in person from the gibson site.

Yeah you get them cheaper in America, think it may be limited to 1000.

Actually, they may be all gone at L&M. I've been on the phone with them the last couple weeks over this. If you haven't pulled the trigga by now, it may be too late. Looks like maybe 70-200 for Canada.

I think this is an incredible value, a sig LP for less than any other LP currently for sale. GC has them for $2100. I don't want to be divorced, especially after my wife bought me the original Slash USA but damn I also liked GT's. I really should wait and get a R7.

I would do some homework on this guitar and finding out where you can get the best price before pulling the trigger.

I know, hope it comes soon. Can't wait, first gibson and looks so nice. Keep checkin your friend to see if you've plugged it in yet. Want to know what it sounds like!!! So it comes with the slash case, and that signed COA. Anything else included? So excited, like Christmas!!!

That was it - no picks or anything, and I was there we broke the seal on the box. I should be able to play it tonight; it will be interesting to see what difference the treble bleeds makes.
