string & pole piece spacing

I have purchased my first Les Paul (a used 2002 Standard) and have noticed that the bridge pickup pole pieces are not aligned with the strings - especially on E and A strings (see picture). I have looked for specifications, but have found none. Should the stings and pole pieces not be centered? Can anyone give some advice?

Hey, that's what mine looks like as well. I'm sure there's some sort of sonic reasoning behind it. Pretty normal, I do believe.

It looks like the grooves in the saddles are a little off center on E and A.

Or there's two neck p'ups , none of mine are like that
