I'd leave it on. I love the 5ply guards. I put one on my Trad-Pro.

I voted off, but I always like LPs with the PG on. Looks more classy. But your guitar looks like a BEAST! I would be so happy if I had even one of the nice guitars that most of these members do. Someday. Hey, copied you picture and tried editing it in paint. Didn't turn out so well, but I wanted to see what it would look like with a yellowed pickguard. Didn't turn out so well, and I am split on putting it up, but what the heck.

If you stack the two pickguards, instead of putting one on each side, does it still give you double tone?

68 posts and im already a huge fan of you...you will get your fine Les Paul soon enough...this plce will make you make the impossible dream happen...i went from casually looking for an SG...to buying an 81 Custom...trading that for a Historic SG, that for a GT Deluxe, getting a standard premium plaus, trading that for a standard , trading that for a GT Trad, selling my 2 goldtops for an R8, trading that for and R9 and selling the R9 for this custom and a Gibson Sonex...this is a year and a half....i started thinking i could BARELY afford the used SG...place does weird sh!t to you man...good luck but know youll have it sooner than you think. i might try and yellow the PG...i can always reverse it... as is ive been thinking about getting the binding even more yellowed

PS. its TOTALLY a beast

IDOL! I am also a Sonex fan. Got them for cheap before they started coming back. Ain't nothing sounds like them though, right? It's like the dirtiest sound, mixed with the cleanest sound EVER. I got 5 of them, and 3 lps. I am thinking about trading up for a custom or historic though. One sonex I really like playing, and my other is NOS. Stickers and all. So I gotta hold onto that one. I have to agree with that other guy, your Custom is one of the nicest axes on here. I am not super big on black, but yours with that binding is one of my favorite. Happy New Year!

Hey man, here's my first Sonex. Got it off of Ebay. I am working on making an album on my profile, but am running into some problems. Just like you said, I am already thinking about trading. Apparently now I need a black LP with black plastic. Even the white with p90 looks decent. Son of a B.
