Questions for the LP double cut players
I did a search and found that there have been threads here and there about Gibson's LP double cut. But since I didn't want to necrobump an old thread, and those threads didn't really address the question I have I figured I'd start fresh.
I've been seriously GAS'ing over the Gibson goldtop double cut I've found on the musiciansfriend site. The thing looks beautiful and I think it would fit my playing style perfecly. I'm hoping that somebody who owns one or has had some experience with them could help me with two questions... 1. Is there really easier access to the higher frets? and 2. I'm not so concerned about the weight of the guitar, but rather what the weight distribution is like. Are they as bottom heavy as a regular LP or are they more balanced? oh and one more 3. Is "boullion gold" just another way to say goldtop or are we talking about two totally separate finishes here? I'd appreciate any and all advice or information. |

Re: Questions for the LP double cut players
It appears the boullion gold is the same rich kind of gold like the Bonamassa Studio? Also, the fretboard appears to be engineered like all Gibsons? The 22nd fret is right at the cutaway.
![]() Can't help you on the weight distribution.
