bfg types

whats the differences between the std bfg & the gary moore bfg ? the gm bfg is about $ 300 -$400 more in cost is it worth it ?

I have no idea whether it is true, but I read somewhere (probably here) that GM specified only the best woods were to be used for his model.

I own two GM BFGs, one of which is a plaintop with some lovely grain, and the other has some nice flame (visible in direct sunlight). I think they are great guitars for the price, but given the choice between a GM for £1,049 or a ink (blue) model for £799, I'd go for the ink. When I bought mine they were actually cheaper than the regular BFGs that were on sale at the time.

They look funny and for that reason many people don't like them but there is nothing else that sounds like them. There is a roughness and a rawness to the sound as well as the finish. The unpotted BB3 at the bridge sizzles with harmonics, the P90 rocks and the thin nitro coat lets the wood speak for itself.

Both of mine are technically for sale, but I'm in no hurry to get rid of them yet so I haven't really advertised them. I'm open to offers if anyone in the UK is interested.
