Les Paul Standard Faded 50s Neck

Hi,

I am looking at buying one of these LP's in the future.

What I am wondering is what kind of edge inlays it has around the body,

Does anyone have any photos of their faded showing the inlays that

encircle the body.

I like both of yours. But I think I like the Honey Burst better.

Tobacco Burst is the best one IMO. Gives it that "something" to look at.

There all sweet Beautiful guitars, IMO of the ones Ive played, They play better out of the box most other gibsons for some reason. Maybe its just me.

Why did they discontinue the 60s neck Fadeds? I prefer a slim neck on my baby than a fatter one. I hope that my Les Paul (it's on it's waaaaaaaaay from Japan

) has a slim neck. It's the '08 USA Standard Slash sig.

Weird about the 60s neck. You would think Gibson would like to sell more guitars, wouldn't you?

Faded LPs make good guitars. I like mine its a players guitar & not a collectors which is why I got it in the first place.

Sounds are very sweet and playability is excellent.

I had a Faded Tobacco Burst with the 50's neck and it had a great feel. I think the 50's neck on the USA models feels just right. It's not as thick as the 50's neck on the Historics. It was a great playing guitar and was super light, but I ended up trading it and my Gary Moore signature model for a 56 reissue gold top I had been jonesing for. The faded standards are a good value and have a nice vintage look.

Do you guys prefer to go to the Guitar shop and buy yours or do you go mail order ?

I should be back home near labor day from my job and will get the faded then..
