I believe you guys now.
The schaller strap locks are amazing! I gave them a try today, for i saw them on the wall, and i said to myself "meh it won't hurt to try it" and these things actually work.

Re: I believe you guys now.
I never bothered with strap locks until I got my LP ... most of my guitars already look like they've been dropped a lot, and you can't hurt a Tele by dropping it, it's just like a hammer. :-) But I put a set of Dunlops on my LP mostly because I'd heard of the headstock problem, and now I'll put them on everything I play regularly. Safe is good! :-)

Re: I believe you guys now.
I used condoms when I was a biker whore but now that I'm old fat an married, hell no. Oh yeah, strap locks..... I don't have any yet. Is it hard to get your strap on and off with them? I saw some diamond shaped ones that looked pretty cool.

Re: I believe you guys now.
I'm currently using the Dunlop Dual strap locks and thinking about switching to the Schaller locks. Does anyone know if the screw sizes are the same? I had slightly drill out one hole for the Dunlop locks. If the Schaller screws are slimmer what do you guys recommend for filling the hole, or smaybe I should just use the Dunlop screw thats already in there?

Re: I believe you guys now.
You dont need to do anything if you fit Schaller, they are the same size screws as the gibson!

Re: I believe you guys now.
I used to answer that "yeah, once a month, if I need it or not". Hell now days, I work so much and I am tired of trying, I usually just come home and play my guitar. My guitars have become my "mistresses". They don't say no, or give me a "mercy" .....

Re: I believe you guys now.
I use schallers, the only thing trick is, to use a tooth pick to shim the screw in the tail end of the guitar(Doesn't hurt anything and you can put the stock strap locks back in, if wanted).. Gibson uses a bigger screw with the stock strap lock on that end.. I guess the put a hook screw in at the factory to hang the guitar while painting it..

I use Dunlop straplocks. They work really good. But I have never tried Schallers.
