Can't go wrong with Grovers for a Gibson, and locking Shallers for a Strat.

These are kinda interesting.

GOTOH® KLUSON® STYLE LOCKING TUNER 3+3 NICKEL

But between the two you specified, I would choose Kluson.

Re: Kluson or locking Grover tuners ?

I'm pro locking tuners. They work very well in conjunction with my locking tailpiece and locking bridge. I feel having all of my hardware be so rock solid adds to my sustain. Lockers also cut down on my string change time and my Custom rarely goes out of tune.

I chose locking Grovers for the Impaler:

Re: Kluson or locking Grover tuners ?

I like the locking grovers. Just pull the string through the hole and tighten the screw.

If you like the guitar and don't like the tuners you could always switch them out.

I agree as well. Stick with Grover's that way you have to do any drilling.
