Talking NGD!!! Trad Faded!

Hey all, just posting a few pics of my new guit that i picked up this morning.. I absolutely LOVE the pickups in this.. super smooth sounding.. anyways, here are some high def pics!!

As you can see i changed a few things.. the bridge was set up backwards at L&M so i switched it around, changed the speedknobs to amber top hats, change of strings and wrap around bridge.. a couple quick turnes of two saddles and within 20 mins it was set up perfect, inotation and all!

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. That definitely is the most beautiful one I've seen yet. And here I thought the grain on mine was gorgeous!

You need to get Maple Leaf shaped knobs to match your truss rod cover.

Hard to find one to refinish though. You can buy a functional Studio for what people want for a project body on EBay.

Re: NGD!!! Trad Faded!

Jeff's guitar has got me thinking.

I was in my local L&M a couple of days ago and they had just gotten a couple more fadeds in. One of them was a Desert Burst and, as far as I had known, the fadeds were only available as Honey Bursts. I am thinking that Jeff's is a Desert Burst (what does it say on your receipt Jeff?) and that these must be a new colour scheme that has become available. I probably won't make it back in to my L&M until Tuesday as I have to put my car into the shop tomorrow (blew a hose coupling a couple of weeks ago and ended up with coolant all over the drive and noticed some more leaking out yesterday so I don't want to drive it until it is fixed, thankfully it will be a warranty job since whatever they did a couple of weeks ago obviously didn't work) but, when I am at L&M, I am going to speak to my sales guy and find out if the fadeds are now being sold in Desert Burst as opposed to the original line which was only available in Honey Burst.

As much as I love mine I would have to seriously consider a trade if they ever got one in that was as nice as Jeff's. I had joked with my sales guy that if the Desert Burst they had received was nicer I would have had to find a 'problem' with mine so that I could trade it in and he scoffed and said not to bother, he would just do a straight up trade for me so it would be easy enough to do if they got a nice enough one in.

My reciept says Honeyburst, plus it lights up pretty good in direct sunlight (these were taken inside today) I'll get some more pics eventually and throw them up to compare. DESERT BURST would be SICK!!

The one I saw wasn't that nice but it could be a sick colour.

Your should email Gibson for info on your guitar and, based on the serial number, they'll tell you the colour.

Nicest Trad I've ever seen. Love those tops with the dark mineral streaks.

Stunning. Now that is a book-matched top! Being the proud owner of two plain (white) guitars, I'm not really into flamed or figured tops but every once in a while I see one that makes me go "woah!" and this is one of them.

Also, could we get some more pics? Thanks!

Ya they seemed to do a really good job matching this top, and I'll get some more photo's up here eventually. I want to get a family photo of all my guits and a few others so I'll make sure to post them to this thread when I take them!

Re: NGD!!! Trad Faded!

I m in love

I haven t seen any shop selling faded trads in Europe:
I prefer faded Gibsons to the regular thick finishes ones.
Yours just looks incredible, like an old 50's guitar.

Lucky you are!
