I just have to show off my new Honey burst LP
I just have to show off my new Honey burst LP. I hate it when other people do it but I just can’t help myself. I saw this Honey Burst LP about four weeks ago at GC and it just caught my eye. It was just a clean looking guitar with the zebra pickups. Then I found out that the guitar had a 50’s neck? Now I’m really confused because I thought that I was probably looking at a 60’s neck Traditional pro. Then I remembered that the 60’s Traditional Pro LP did not come with a 50’s neck or did they come in a Honey Burst finish, so what the hell am I looking at?
Instead of asking for help I grab a ladder that was nearby and took it down from the wall, it was way up on top but I got to it. I sat down with it and started to play it without being plug in. Man, it was talking to me [if you know what I mean?]. Finally a sales person came along and asked me if I wanted to plug it in, I’m thinking to myself - HELL YES! -, but I kept it cool and just said sure. I have a Fender Blues Deluxe amp at home so I decide to test out the guitar on the same amp. I was playing this Les Paul for over an Hour and the sale person just left me alone. The sales person must have known I was not leaving the store without it, he was right. The LP had everything that I was looking for and stuff that I didn’t even know I was looking for. I knew that I wanted a les Paul with the 57 classic pick up’s but never thought of having a Bust Bucker 3 along with it. I never thought I would like the locking Grover tuners but I do. I never thought I needed push/pull coil split system on my LP but I did. I can go on and on but I think you get the picture, I Love this guitar, but not as much as I love my wife but it’s close. [I had to say this just in case she reads this blog] Anyway here are some pictures that I took of it. This Les Paul will be with me for a life time. Just saying, Antiochdave - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: I just have to show off my new Honey burst LP
I have a Honeyburst Traditional Plus top and I wish I had one of these instead. The zebra buckers and the less figured top really appeals to me. Congrats and enjoy.

If I ever get to buy another LP (most probably not) it will be a Honey Burst plain top. HBs are the best. Congrats dude.

Thanks everybody for the kind words. It’s been a long time since I owned a guitar that makes me want to practice all the time.
