Re: traditional faded?

ok here are the basic and the pics. I think it is very similar to the coveted standard fadeds. The neck is 50 and close to my R8. I have not plug it in yet

And I only paid....$1599!!!

1.Box picture - LPTDFHBNH - my interp: LPtraditionalFadedHoneyBurstNickelHardware
2.Case
3. Backof heastock - Date 2011
4. with my R8
5. Closeup - Clearly more of a plaintop than flame of the Standard fadeds.

Re: traditional faded?

The Neck is big - here is a comparison of the necks next to my R8

Plus my son clearly approves of our new guitar!!!

This guitar is a special limited run of 200 to Long and Mcquade in Canada (gibson distributor) for their Gibson Month promotion for April. There are only 200 made. The store I deal with got 5 and I got the first today. They don't officially go on sale until tommorrow morning and I know 1 other is already gone.

Again $1599 - plus I got a free Gibson tshirt to wipe it down!

If anyone is interested , I can put side by side comparison pictures up with my Trad desert burst

Re: traditional faded?

Wow!

There was some rumbling's a few weeks back about Gibson bringing back the Standard Faded's.

Could this be it?

Though she doesn't quite look like a hand applied stained finish to the Top. (see edit)

Congrats~!

Thanks for sharing this. Your son looks more than Jazzed about it too~!

edit: I take that back! That Top doesn't look like a sprayed finish though it's very difficult to tell it's a very light burst. I'm more than interested in this! Have you seen any others?

Re: traditional faded?

It is a satin exactly like the standard fadeds of before
I have seen only three and quite frankly all look identicle

no other colors - but you know Gibson people are watching and if there is demand they will build it!!!

Haven't plugged it in yet ( tax time here in Canada) and just took a few of these pics quickly when I brought it home today

Re: traditional faded?

Vey interesting! I didn't L&M was getting something like this (nice price too). MInor correction though, Yorkville sound (which owns L&M) is the Canadian DIstributor for Gibson not L&M. They also provide Gibsons to Guitar Works & Steve's Music etc.

Every Gibson sold through any dealer in Canada goes through Yorkville.

Re: traditional faded?

I sense another reasonably priced model that will sell hundreds over MAP pricing on the used market.

umm...I am in Canada.

I played it last night and it is what I hoped for. Action playability is superb and tone is fantastic.
In Canada we don't get the traditional plus or any of the GC exclusives, but you have to admit that the traditional and now the traditional faded is the best bang for the buck out there

The Traditional is the Trad Plus. Same guitar, same top. GC just calls it the Trad Plus to cash in on the AA tops.

The "Traditional" are the Ebony and Goldtops. All the burst Traditionals have been Plus Tops, thus the Traditional Plus name - some Flame, as opposed to a Plain Top, and are @ $200 more.

In spring of 2010 they started to ship the " Tradtional Premium Plus " with highly Flamed tops. For a while they were on the packaging but not listed. Quite a step up in the Flame Tops since then.

Sorry, here in the South some of us refer to Canadians as Super Yanks (as in beyond Yankee). Just pokin some fun.

And yeah, my Traditional 'Plus' is really just a Traditional (It's really kinda tame and not much of a plus, but I like it that way). And I'm not a huge fan of the Pros...

But that dang Faded is one fine beast.

Re: traditional faded?

YES!
Now for a couple of questions:
1. Chambered or swissed?
2. Pups? Are they 57's?

Either way, congrats mate. Good to see Henry finally doing something right again.
If the Faded series does make a comeback,I think the price of all those SF's for sale out there may just come down…

Re: traditional faded?

As posted the only info I know is there are 200 available only through L+M in Canada.

I played it some more and I am thrilled!

It feels Swiss to me (knock test) and the pickup are sound like the 57 s
I will open them up this weekend

Again guys, what a great guitar!!!

If you look at the other end of the gibson box which you show a pic of the model LPTDFHBNH there is a white sticker that says Gibson Lespaul Standard 50's neck with another bar code and under it it says LP5FHBNH1...the serial numbers are the same for both ? Just wnted to point that out. I got one on April 1st still soon but i know its going to be a keeper ! ..Also they sy a limited run of 200 ? Look at the serial 3's last 3 digets and i tought that indicaded what number it was..I've only seen 2 and they were both in the 300's...I would also like to know exactly what model it is but regardless it's nice axe ! Thanks for any comments on this...I'm new here so don't mind me if i end up posting some newbie stuff..LOL...........
