I like it the way it is . I have an Edwards custom like that except cream / black bobbins .

I removed put double black(gold screws) in my axcess custom. Reflectors too. Pickguard was a must and a TRC that says custom-because the axcess customs are blank. I've switch the tip from white to black to gold to brushed gold and back to white. I love black customs...

Uh, I liked the way it looked before..
But still, do you notice a difference in the tone with the covers removed??

Not a really significant difference. Well.... I've just changed the amp, so it's a bit difficult to tell but it feels like there's just slightly more treble.
