Sounds too dirty?
I notice on my Traditional Pro that when I have the knobs turned to ten that the sound is kinda dirty and not well defined....very noticeable when trying to play chords. I'm connected to an AC15C1 on the clean channel with regular and master volume both about halfway. Lowering the guitar knob volume to 7 or 8 gets rid of the dirty sound. Is this normal?

Re: Sounds too dirty?
I would imagine that's normal. It's nice to have a slight crunch on 10 and then be able to roll off slightly to clean it up. It's versatility (don't always have to be on 10). With the Pro having 500k pots wired 50's style, that definitely sounds normal to me.

Re: Sounds too dirty?
If you find it too muddy for you, you might want to play with the tone knobs and roll them back a bit. That will tighten it up and give you some edge that is raw.

Re: Sounds too dirty?
Thanks for the responses. I thought maybe something was wrong because I would leave all the knobs on max on my previous strat and with single pickups it still sounded clean. I get a similar effect on my LP if I coil tap.

Re: Sounds too dirty?
I almost never have the volume(s) on 10 when playing Humbuckers or P-90s. I set the amp's drive up into Cat Scratch Fever territory and only tap into it for searing leads with (or at least including) the bridge pickup.
Strumming all six strings with the volumes on 10 drives the amp into max distortion. If you never want it that distorted, turn it down. You essentially can't set a dirty amp the same way for both Strats and Les Pauls. It doesn't work. Clean's another story.
