PU Cavity markings in Old Classics
I have a bunch of old Classics from 90 to 93. Mostly Plus and Premium Plus models. In the pickup cavity of one is handwritten what appears to be the intials "RG", though it could be "R6" (though I can't imagine why). Another is "LG" or "L6". These are under the finish.
Does anybody know what or who these refer to? |

Re: PU Cavity markings in Old Classics
I thought - bare that in mind - they were finish identification.
My Classic has LB (Light Burst) I think, been several months since I had the neck pup out. |

Re: PU Cavity markings in Old Classics
These guitars have a finish identification written in pu cavities, as well. I'm wondering if these are initials of the builder/finisher? Thanks.

That's what I'm thinking. My '99 has something like that. It's retired, so I'd have to dig it out to look, but I'm pretty sure it's someone's initials. |
