Need Help on Ernie Ball Strings
I'm planning to replace my stock strings, but I come across to these 2 models:
- Regular Slinky Nickel Wound .010 - .046 (Ernie Ball - Strings, Electric Guitar, Nickel Wound, Sets) - RPS-10 Slinky Nickel Wound .010 - .046 (Ernie Ball - Strings, Electric Guitar, Nickel Wound, Sets) What's the difference between these two? I appreciate any coments/explantions. Cheers. GS

Re: Need Help on Ernie Ball Strings
As far as I can tell the second set just reinforces the ball ends to prevent breakage. It gives you the description.. I use the set in the first link, and I've never had any problems.

I'm planning to oil the fretboard, is it wise to unstrung all strings and do the job? any advice? When people say Lemon Oil, is it this one?

Re: Need Help on Ernie Ball Strings
I use Ernie Ball .010's and D'addario .010's and never have had a string break.

![]() Take all the strings off. Dab a few drops on a cloth and put a streak in between each fret. Then rub it around until every spot is moist. Then wipe it off. It's pretty easy to apply and smells great. |

Re: Need Help on Ernie Ball Strings
You guys should try bore oil, or Fret Dr. I'll be here when you decide to thank me!
![]() ![]() ![]() Really though I used lemon oil for a long time, and there's nothing wrong with it. I just like Fret Doctor better.
