Aldo Nova Signature Les Paul

Anyone have one of these...?

I know, it has been discussed. I just want to run across one in person....
I have no idea how many they made...

Never could figure out why he wanted that headstock on a Les Paul. My eyes refuse to accept it, it's just too weird.

I've never actually seen one in person. I don't think they made that many, but I have no idea.

Do they call that the "Fantasy" model? I had no idea that he had a signature Gibby? What is he up to these days?

They should have called it that. I met him years ago (right after that song came out) Nice guy.. Started his career playing George in a Beatles tribute band. Not sure what he is up to now... He was a pretty good player although I never saw him use that model...

Cheesy video...

I still have the "Fantasy" 45 here at home, haven't spun it in years.

According to Wikipedia he is a songwriter and producer now.

Were you living in the 80's? Those pointy guitars where everywhere. Remember the Neal Schon guitar? Now it is painful to watch but when I was 14 in 1985 all I wanted was a Charvel (a Jackson really but they were more expensive)...

I guarantee you the only guy on the planet that had a better mullet than me in '88 was Joe Elliot That answer your question?

I fully remember Aldo Nova and his odd Lester. Just saying I never liked it. Too weird.

I hear you on the Charvels, but I was the guy looking for the P-90 Les Pauls nobody wanted back then. They were dirt cheap back then. Those were the days.

I remember when one of my buddies picked that album up on vinyl when it came out.
Went over to his house to listen to it, wow, couldnt believe it.
Never liked the headstock.

Oh yeah, I had one of those. Guitar sounded horrible. But if you needed to break in to a warehouse where you had a gig, you could aim the headstock at the door and laserbeams came shooting out - worked every time. I ended up selling it to a squirrely looking dude named "Henry Juszkiewicz" (yeah right - like that's his real name). Never heard from him again.

I know Rick Nielsen has one of the Aldo Nova looking lesters because I saw him playing it at a show last year.

I wouldn't be caught dead with one of those. Far as I was concerned then and now, whoever came up with that idea should have been prosecuted for rape.

So were hair metal bands, Michael Jackson gloves, artificial turf baseball parks, and (for the first half of the decade, anyway) Culture Club, but it didn't mean I had to like them.

I like a guitar to look like a guitar, not a handheld weapon of mass destruction . . .

Re: Aldo Nova Signature Les Paul

Here is a picture of my 80's guitar, it had split coil humuckers and was actually very versatile. It's a Fender Performer, which was only made for 1 year, MIJ. Very rare nowadays and worth quite a bit. Unfortunately I sold mine in the mid 90's when they weren't worth nearly as much.

And yes I messed with the tags so I wouldn't needlessly violate anyone's eyes with that image again.
