Why is it impossible to get certain replacement screws??

Do Gibson make their own screws? Or do they define a certian spec to a certain company then get thousands/millions made??

The reason I ponder this is beacause I cannot find replacement screws for my LP. I'm talking about EXACTLY the same screws. I know that maybe isn't totally nessecary but i'm very pedantic when it comes to my LP. I'm sure i'm not the only one here

Anyway here's the story - I want new pickup surround screws and machine head fixing screws for my 2003 Standard. Loads and loads of spare parts companys do them but like I say they are not exact.

Through my work I made contact with a massive fastener manufacturer. I'd go as far as saying one of the biggest fastener companys in the world. I provided them with samples of the screws i want from my guitar and they couldn't match them from stock

They also only offer them in two diffrent thread lenghts. Gibson LP pickup surround screws come on the guitar with three (the neck pickup ones are all the same, the upper most two on the bridge are another size and the lower most two, the thrid)

They sell the original Gibson p/u rings with original screws, but not sure if they will sell the screws separate.
