Amazing what a few pieces of black plastic can do!

The other day, I bought some black plastic for my baby, just to experiment a little with it's look. Thought I'd share the pictures

- Thomann toggle ring
- Gibson Les Paul Custom pickguard
- Dimarzio tall mounting rings
- Black reflectors

Nice guitar. What is a JCM 800 "Bass Series"? For bass? Never heard of it. I have a 1983 JCM 800 2204 myself.

Beautiful guitar, I think that guitar could even make rainbow colored plastic look goo,

It is a 1988 100 watt JCM800 1992. Originally designed for bass. It has a ridiculous amount of head room and is a very loud clean amp. It also has an active EQ. Not your typical Marshall, but I like the sound of it very much. I run a Carl Martin Plexitone in front of it for overdriven sounds.

It's a very aggressive sounding amp when overdriven, and due to it being a bass amp, it can produce an insane amount of bottom end if needed

It depends on the guitar color. If you have a light-colored guitar such as the OP's, black looks terrific. If you have a dark-colored guitar, it looks horrid or at least way too subdued.

Consider my Studio, dark wine red which came with black plastic and knobs. I swapped it out for cream and amber:

Wow! She's a beautiful guitar. I love that honey top and the deep mahogany back.

Re: Amazing what a few pieces of black plastic can do!

It would really be cool to see a "before" pic of that guitar. That is a beautiful top.

I think the black plastic looks the best on a dark back guitar like yours. I don't think the black plastic looks quite right on a goldtop but I saw them on a dark back goldtop and for some odd reason they looked much better.
