NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
There she is. Not the best picture, but I rather play her than photograph her now. She is a lot darker actually, the Flash lightens it up alot.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
Please don't take this as rude. It's not meant to be. I'm looking at one of these now. Could you give me a ball park of what you gave for it? I see them for 2837.00. I can get mine quit a bit lower. It is new with everything include from factory. It's from a major retail who occsasional works with me. I just want to get a feel on what they go for.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
@hpshooter: I ordered it at 2290€. They made it a bit cheaper 2189€ the last days. So I will try to get a refund, which should be possible since I could just return the guitar and buy it cheaper again. At the current exchange rate 2189€ is almost exactly 2837$.
That includes 19% sales tax.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
That chinese one looks frightening good at a first look.
To me the most obvious differences are: -the binding ist white not cream. -the lids on the back are white, not black -the letters in the tone volume nobs seem to be a little to small -the serial number and the "made in USA" is only printed -the MOP in the Headstock does not seem to be real

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
Ok, so I have to ask after seeing that and having been snooping the china made ones out of curiosity..... is it a solid wood body, or plywood, and is the flame real, or a photo or a laminate layer. I'm sure the electronics and hardware are crap, but Its a damn pretty axe, especially at the prices they are charging, and I'm not gonna "scam" anyone, its obviously a fake for my own use.
(Sorry Slash and Gibson, but I work a real job, I dont 3 grand for a guitar). |

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
Why would you even consider byuing a fake Gibson AFD guitar? it must be total crap! Buy a cheap model Epi instead, that one is at least playable.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
Not necessarily. It depends on who made it and how well they did. After all, Gibson guitars are made by people too (can debate that some of the process is machine based). I think that's why it can be hit or miss some times with Gibson's. Some employees are better than others, so the more of the better employees you get on all of the procedures the guitar goes through, the better. This is just one of my theories.

![]() You should be ashamed of yourself talking that shit here. It's not OK bud. I wont even get into the 1000 reasons why. I shouldn't have to. You should know better. FYI - Do what the rest of us who work "a real job" do. We work and save for what we want. Once we own them, we take pride in the fact that we do. But you clearly wouldn't know anything about that.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
QUOTE-----You will not find anyone on this forum who will condone the knowing purchase of a fake.------
Now, I own a few Japanese Les Pauls, and as far as I am concerned these are basically fakes too, and "shouldn't be in America", but they are, and the world is a changing place, and I respect where folks are coming from, in a way, who might be pissed at "fakes", they have a great brand loyalty, and believe in their product, and I hope they enjoy their purchases, and am not saying anything negative about them. that being said, the above quoted comment would logically conclude that no one on this forum would condone the purchase of either of Slash's original "fake " Les Pauls that were not made by Gibson if they had the opportunity to buy them..... or is it ok because they were made in California and not China. You can be quite sure that the luthiers who made those "fakes" got very well paid and copied the EXACT same Gibson logo as the one seen above, they didnt sell em for 4-600 bucks. Remove the subjective quality opinion of each guitar (Obviously Slash's original axes are way higher quality than any China made one), and the end result is that Slash's real 2 guitars were FAKE, and mimicked the Gibson brand name and were sold to Slash for $. In reality, Slash has real Gibson's , but has never really been impressed with most of the samples they send him and used to keep very few (the same went for BC Rich when they offered him Mockingbird's in the early 90s), if you read any of his past interviews. He seems to hush up nowadays, a likely result of his contract Maybe that changed later with the Tobacco Burst Signature ones, but he preferred his "fakes". Does that make him a bad guy? I mean, he toured and recorded a multi platinum album with "fake" Gibsons. I just wanna hang one on a wall for wall art and play it a rehearsal once a month. Shouldn't people be pissed at him and the luthiers for making all that $ on Gibson's name? Specifically Gibson? PS, I wont be buying one, cuz I dont trust overseas websites, but it makes for an interesting debate I think. Definitely dont mean to offend any one here, likewise, I wouldn't recommend throwing jeers at someone whom you assume to be ignorant without knowing them. I'm a pretty learned, accepting and reasonable guy. That said, I 'll be respectful and not bring up the Chinese topic again, cuz apparently it sets some people off .

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
To be fair, the "fakes" you are talking about are in fact replicas. They are sold as such and NOT as a genuine Gibson.
The Chinese fakes that everyone gets so up in arms about are passed off as genuine Gibsons to the unsuspecting and uninformed public. This is what is so wrong and anger inducing on this and many other forums. As an interesting sidenote... my wife knows how much I've been gagging for a Snakepit LP and almost purchased a Chinese fake without knowing the difference for me as a Christmas present. I found out luckily and saved her wasting $300. To be honest I almost let her buy it anyway as it was a lovely thought and I was kinda curious just how bad it would be.

Re: NGD - Another Slash AFD USA
When I bought my last Les Paul just before Xmas, my "guy" could get one for $2,650. Don't know if that's a good price or not, but I just looked in the original email he sent me with a good photo of it. Hope this helps
