interesting custom in a local shop
put my grubby mits on an interesting LP today at lunch. Black custom with a very odd coloured trim.
I believe it was a custom standard because it had a serial # that started with CS. It was interesting to me because: 1. it felt great (60's style neck), in my hands... 2. priced lower than a burst standard, but more than a studio 3. god awful coloured trim - not off white, but weird beige.... could not find this on the gibson site ...the search goes on for a heritage or cherry burst standard.........saw some epi's that had fantasitc burst patterns, wonder if they are any better than my kramer?? |

Re: interesting custom in a local shop
There's no such thing as a "Custom-Standard". It was probably a regular CS Custom w/aged binding (ala an RI)?

Re: interesting custom in a local shop
Yeah, the beige color trim is throwing me off for a Custom. I see this color of binding on their Standards though. The Classic Custom looks more gold or orange-yellow colored.
PICS Please!!! |

Aren't Custom Classics Gibson USA guitars? I believe they are; so, that wasn't what he tried either. A question I have is - why is the forum giving this so much though?

Re: interesting custom in a local shop
Thanks Jimmy! For some reason I was under the impression it was used and hoping it might be a Norlin. I'm in the store on a regular basis, might have to check it out.

Re: interesting custom in a local shop
I know, but that was the first thing that popped in my head.
