found a les paul

Been patient the past few weeks, debating over which LP I want. Finally settled on a 08 standard plus in the ice tea finish. Was considering a traditional, but the burstbucker pro pickups have a clarity that I love, and the guitar just feels right to me. Found a used one about 2 hours from me...price is $1799, I was going to try to walk away with it for $1650. For an 08, I think its a fair price...what do yall think about the price?

I thought you were going to say that you were walking along, maybe rummaging through someone's garbage and BAM found a Les Paul

I was thinking the same thing, but that it was probably a Chinese copy.

OP, I picked up an '09 Standard Plus last week and would easily pay $1800 for it. If you can get it for less, go for it!

Re: found a les paul

'08 was a great year for gibson . Totally it will be a prefect guitar. If it feels and sounds great, buy it.

That can be debated...

$1650 is a great price for if its nearly new.

$1650 would be worthwhile surely.

Re: found a les paul

I did it. Bought my first les paul! I went and looked at it, and played it...it is beautiful. Also, after getting a good look at it, it is a 2009, not a 2008! So, its only a year old! Having it setup and shipped to me on monday...(I'm in the process of a move, so I won't be in the area to pick it up). Will post pics when I get it.

Nice work. Keep us posted. The only used Les Pauls I have seen around here are vintage ones worth a lot of $$$. I wish I could find a deal like that.

Re: found a les paul

I feel lucky! Unfortunately, I didn't get it for $1650...with taxes, out the door it cost me closer to $1800. Another thing that stinks is that it won't arrive at my door until Thursday. If it werent a 3 hour drive in traffic, I'd just go pick it up. Oh Well.

Re: found a les paul

UGGHHH! Still waiting. The manager who sold it to me said it was shipped yesterday, but I think he misled me...the tracking number on UPS said that Billing info has been received, so I think the info was sent to UPS, and it was physically put on a truck today. I'm only a couple hours away, so it'll only take a day to get here. I got a warm feeling when he said it was sent out yesterday thinking it would arrive today. Very Frustrating. I wanna ROCK!

Re: found a les paul

I just red something great. Went to UPS website, entered the tracking number, and the latest update is "Out For Delivery". Joy! Will post an NGD thread this afternoon after it arrives!

Re: found a les paul

Woo Hoo!! It arrived! Took a couple pics of the box and me opening it up, but will post up later. I'm gonna go downstairs and take a big drink of ICE TEA!! (Hopefully some of you get the humor in the fact that my new-to-me Les Paul is in Ice Tea finish.)

Hopefully it doesn't need an adjustment.
