Serial Numbers

My Les Paul has a serial number of L1 0255. The Gibson serial number manual does not list it. I've owned it for 25 years and brought it from a reputable dealer so I not worried about a counterfeit.

Any thoughts on the serial number and how I can find information on my guitar? Gibson is unresponsive.

Contact Gibson customer service...........they should be able to help.

"Serial number unrecognized ..

Your guitar may have been made prior to 1977, in that case you may need to use the Vintage Panel, simply select all the options that best describe your guitar. If you are still having difficulties please contact the webmaster...

Take a look at this website and contact the administrator if you still can´t get correct data using the vintage panel.

Hell I get the same thing and mine's a 2008 Les Paul Custom. LOL

Strange...mine is a 2003 standard and works fine.

Ive never owned a Gibson of that age, but theyve always been quick enough to answer any questions Ive had if I provide pictures of the guitar. Contacting a service rep will put you on the path for that.

Ignore the web page and talk to them directly.

Although... he states that he bought from reputable dealer and isnt worried about a counterfeit... so then why does he need the serial number verified?

In any case communication with Gibson should resolve things.

Can you describe the model for us?

Model Name?
Electric or Aoustic?
Fingerboard inlay?
Headstock inlay?
Gibson logo (Silkscreen or inlay, dot over i?)
Binding type (top or back?)
Describe the bridge
Color?
number of pickups?
cutaway?
F-holes?
sound hole?
Top wood?
Side wood?
Back wood?
