Gibson delivery time

I have ordered a les paul studio in europe on 11/03 this year. Is it normal that it takes so long for delivery, or is it the flooding?

A lot of it is probably the flood. Quite a few dealers have their inventory on backorder here in the states too.

Has Gibson contacted you?

Was it a special order or is it something that can be rectified by borrowing a piece from one of their bigger dealers?

If you ordered something off of Thomann.de which was 'On Request' and not 'In Stock' I'd suggest you cancel the order and buy a different one.

I paid a 100 euro in advance to order the guitar. I didn't buy it@ Thomann in Germany. In less than 3 weeks it will be 6 months that the guitar is in order.

Ye, we need to know where you ordered. I've got a couple of good online shops I've bought from. Again I'd suggest you cancel and order from somewhere else. If you cancel I'm sure they'd give your the 100 euro back.

I really have to give OP credit for following forum rules about store feedback and trying to maintain a good relationship with his local shop despite shoddy service.

Let me just clarify something here. I work for a music store and order Gibson guitars direct from them all the time. Almost every time I inquire about getting a customer a guitar that they do not currently have available for delivery the answer from them is "We can have it made for your customer and ready to ship to you in 2-3 months."

I have done a few special orders for various guitars that Gibson has available in their catalog that when I ordered they had to "Make it from scratch" and it was about 3 months till I received the guitar.
Only time I can see something taking a while is if you have ordered a guitar from a company/store that did not check first if the guitar you wanted was still a current stocked Gibson Guitar. When they discontinue a guitar from standard production they will tell the retailer imediately, and offer a "custom shop" order for them at a higher cost than the non custom shop piece.

Either way, best luck to you. Hope you don't have a bad taste in your mouth from Gibson for this.

In every shop shop there are a truck load of Studio, I can't understand that it takes 6 month to deliver a geet.

Sorry, didn't see that one. Only LP Studio model showing instock right now is the rather sexy (but yet never advertised) LPSANSCH1 - Gibson Les Paul Studio Natural Satin.

Unfortunately the system doesn't give delivery dates of when unavailable stock is next expected in.

Hard to say. Gibson is just now starting to ship product again so they're going to be playing catch up on the backlog of orders.
