Les Paul Stolen!
Guitarist Chris Caffery of Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Chris Caffery Band has had a Les Paul stolen. He just posted it to Facebook, and I am trying to get more info. What I have so far, is that it's an Ace Frehley Custom from a limited run during the late 90's. Here is the only pic he's posted so far, hopefully he can provide more pics, and more detailed info soon.
![]() Here is what Chris had to say: Attention! The guitar I am holding in my profile photo has been stolen. It is a Gibson Les Paul Custom Ace Frehley model. Gibson made a limited run of these in the late 1990's. I am offering a substantial reward for information leading to its return and the arrest of the person who stole it. If you see someone with a guitar like this take photos of the person and the guitar and send them to me here. If you have any information email it to me here. I know you all are very good at networking and using the internet for just about anything. Spread the word, let your musician friends know, your local music stores, pawn shops...let everyone know. I am not going to let up on this until the mystery is solved. My local, state and federal authorities are working with me and a pretty big network of people who are now searching. I want to invite you all to help as well. The world is big, but awfully small through the internet. I just want back what is mine and the proper justice to follow. Thank you in advance for your help... Chris Chris lives in NY, so I'm trying to find out where it went missing from. Thanks for reading, and please keep an eye out! EDIT: Chris sent another photo:

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
Not very cool IMO! Why not just say something nice (or say nothing at all) and keep the negative comments to yourself? Maybe it has some sentimental value to him and I know it cost quite a bit. Sure hope it turns up soon and justice is served to the scumbag who took it!

Looks better than that red pile of crap in your avatar. What is that, a girl's guitar? Be a dick and you'll be treated like one in turn.

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
I hope he gets it back. One thing in his favour, there cant be many of them floating around.
3 of these threads in a very short period of time, not good.

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
I hope he gets it back. I can't really help much living in the UK but it looks like a nice guitar. Theives should have one of their hands cut off like the did in medieval times. it sure meant they didn't do it anymore

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
That really sucks. I hope it is soon recovered and justice meted out to the scum who nicked it. Being such a unique and easily identifiable guitar may help in it's swift recovery.

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
Man, hope he gets it back. Seems to be a lot of Gibsons getting stolen lately.
It's a pretty recognizable guitar at least. Can't be too many of those around. |

Well yes there are! This is the production model, they produced them from 97 to 2001 ( at least guitars that look just like this model ) the custom model has a few differences for instance pearloid tuner buttons and a metal trussrod cover as well as metal backplates. There are several of these on eBay weekly.. it's really a shame though, does he have more details regarding where it was stolen? |

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
a serial # would do wonders! let's hope he's got one for it or it may be a losing battle.
hope this never happens to me, but just in case all my guitars have a file with all that info and pics for identification, I highly recommended that all LP owners.

Re: Les Paul Stolen!
He is withholding the serial for now, in the hopes that the thief may panic & try to dump it. I hesitated to post that here, in case the thief sees this thread. No distinguishing marks, but the flame top should be able to be matched to the photos. I would think Chris may want to put the serial out to local pawn shops, but that's his call.
