How can I delete or edit a post?

I posted a Members Classifieds thread and realized afterwards that there was a typo in my contact info. However, even when I am logged in, there is no "Edit" button displayed. I also would like to delete an old Members Classifieds thread for a guitar of mine that has already long since sold — but again, when I go to that thread, no "Edit" button is displayed there, either. How can I edit or delete such posts? Any info would be helpful, thanks.

Re: How can I delete or edit a post?

You can only edit up to 24 hours after the original post I think. After that, the post is permanent unless a mod edits it..

Also, you can edit and not have the post show that you did, if said edit is done within one half hour.

(someone correct me if I am mistaken)

Don’t buy junk, never buy junk, ‘cause, well, it’s junk.
Don’t buy hype either, ‘cause hype is just BS, and if you have ever been on a farm, you know that BS stinks.

Thanks for this info. How can I get in touch with a moderator? There are two guitars that I have listed for sale as separate listings, and I accidentally typed the contact info incorrectly in those threads. I sent a message about this using the "Contact Us" form (see link at bottom of this page), but no one ever got back to me. If I had been aware that posts on this forum become permanent after 24 hours, I never would have posted. I've never heard of such a thing on the Internet.

Re: How can I delete or edit a post?

Please post a link, and let me know what you need changed. Please don't make me hunt for it...many thanks.

You should be able to send me a private message (PM) with the information. If you cannot, "Report" the post, and let me know what you'd like changed. (The Yield Sign symbol in the bottom left of the post.)

There is a reason for not allowing users to delete posts/threads; when we have to figure out "Who shot John" it's nice to have all the info there....sneaky users could violate the rules, then remove the post/threads before we could see it.
