NGD! Oh My...NOS 69 Fender Custom Shop Strat

Well I said I'd NEVER do this but I was forced to trade my beloved Gibson Traditional LP Gold Top last night. One of those things that I thought I'd NEVER do. I am now LP-less (that will have to change at some point). I guess we all have moments of weakness like this but have a look at what I got in return.........

Mint 2008 NOS 69 Fender Custom Shop Strat!

I miss the GT already but I am thrilled with this Strat. Sounds and plays amazing...

Ya..it was a no brainer really. The funny thing was, was that on Wednesday I was at Lauzon music checking out the CS strats and wondering how much I'd get for my GT on a trade in. Figuring I wouldn't get what I needed I figured the CS was out of the question. Then two days later an ad is posted locally selling this strat and I offered my GT and it was a done deal Friday night! Now that's the power of the Secret!

I wish they would do them in the MIM classic line so I could afford one! Like they got the 69 thinline , and 70s strat why not . A large headstock non bullet truss, 4 bolt model. They could call it mid 60's early 70's model. LOL

I got a MIM 04 50's classic a week ago Friday came in from a guy in Peterborough Ont. Still had the plastic on the guard and trem plate . Mimt like new. 475. with case Yorkville case. 2 tone . I don't usually buy without playing first but the fellow offered me , a on approval thing so! as it turned out its fine I love it , the V shape neck is a harder V than my other 50's classic. The serial # says 04 the guard is stamped May 05. The guy bought it in 07 NOS and put her away soon after. He couldn't find the time to pick it up.

My first strat was a 72. Big H .stock was my fav. cause Jimi used them.

Yep they do look classy. same with the black & maple thats what my 08 MIA standard is. Either colour goes with anything.

Loving it.....

just wait a couple of years and leave it out of the case so the white turns to vintage white......It´s starting on my Masterbuilt Olympic white strat and it just looks awesome.

White strat with RW neck.......best combination ever IMO. And the Bifg headstock is my favorite...just because you do not see it very often!

This guitar is just WOW!
There will come times where you miss your LP for sure, but this 69 OMG, great gitaahhh!

Very nice. I am just not a strat type of fellow. I have owned a few at different times, I really want to like one because I love the blusey sound. I can't get used to the feel of the body or the neck.

Good luck with her though.

Wow!!!!! If it makes you feel better, it looks like all of us that replied on here think you did great with the trade. Sure you can get another LP, but how often can you come across a CS 69 strat? Congrats!

Thanks Alpine! I 'm really happy with this Strat..no question about that and I don't regret the trade AT ALL. Still though...I miss the GT. Everytime I looked at that guitar I was like WOW..it's gorgeous. It didn't play like the 69 does though! That's what it boils down too for me.
I'll find another GT later....

I agree but if ya got the money to spend , ya can come across em any time. Just order one!
