Re: Fender American H/S/S Strat S-1 switching Demo

Great review--Which pickups does your S1 strat have? Is the humbucker a Pearly Gates? SC single Coils? I do agree that these are very versitile guitars-

Just curious what the pick up combo was-

mines the 2006 model with the Tex Mex single coils and Diamondback humbucker.

Re: Fender American H/S/S Strat S-1 switching Demo

The Tex-mex makes sense--I didn't think it was the standard run of the mill single coils that are in my 2005 American series-

The diamondback sounds pretty good too-Hard to tell on my Laptop speakers though, lol-

I thought they were still putting the Pearly Gates in them in 06-

Regardless, it all sounded good-

Re: Fender American H/S/S Strat S-1 switching Demo

I had a Fender Lone Star Strat back in 1997 that had the 2 Texas specials and Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge..nice guitar..ofcourse no S-1 switching then.. that guitar was nice but this one is much better tone wise..I like the Diamondback better, more punch to it..

Re: Fender American H/S/S Strat S-1 switching Demo

I messed up a little I noticed. When the guitar is not in the S-1 switching and in the out of phase mode with the humbucker and middle pickup, the country sound, it's actually the rear coil of the humbucker that is on, not the front coil.
