Re: Glendal brass

What saddles ya got now , steel ? Brass does change the sound slightly but . Depends on what your after. I do not find any real advantage to brass as opposed to steel barrels . The tone controls on the guitar and amp can pretty much dial in or out whatever so.
Of course if you have a intonation problem they help that. Worth it IMO not bought new but used ya. I do like the Callaham enhanced comp steel. I have them (used) and Gotoh brass. Gotoh has copied them as well as a few others. I do not like the Glendale or Callaham reg. slanted comp.

Re: Glendal brass

my tone got thicker sounding with a ton more sustain, still bright and tele-like but just bigger. And less of the harsh high end.

The Glendale will not make any differemce except for the ability to intonate the guitar closer to perfect. And that is if your guitar suffers from intonation problems. Even the compensated saddles may not allow for spot on intonation. But as far as Glendale or Callaham brass saddles and any kind of noticeable tone difference ?, compared to Stock Fender. IMO there is none.

IMO SS saddles are brighter than brass ones,on the same test guitar with same tone settings, and most solid brass offered by whom ever, all pretty much sounds the same. IMO

IMO if you are in need of more sustain and brightness get the whole deal from either Callaham or Glendale. The single cut or double cut bridge are a nice feature. I have a Glendale SS bridge and Callaham SS comp . I like that setup. Although the EA, SS with DG,BE, Brass interests me also.

Used they are quite affordable . The Callaham is as good as Glendale but a little cheaper.

Re: Glendal brass

And these Wilkinson Adjustable Compensated Bridge for Tele at Stewart-MacDonald

which are made by Gotoh , maybe just the saddles as a choice to consider, these lock.

I think Mr. Suhr ,is it ?,says that wilkinson is the best tele bridge made.

Re: Glendal brass

Cool, thanks. It does not appear to have an intonation problems to really speak of, none that are noticeable to me anyway. I was just curious if the glendale would give me a little more punch. I will hold off I have bare knuckle country boys coming, we will see how it plays out.

Re: Glendal brass

Yep there sure are. The BK's seem to be a little of the beaten path with tele's but the guy who did a sound file on youtube did a great job. Very versatile

I personally dont like hot pups so I went with the CB's as apposed to the brown sugars or yardbirds.I know these are slightly hotter than the blackguards, but not enough to hurt any of the tele characteristics. I like the tele spank to stay the way it is just have more personality. The price was better and the wait time was better than a lot of the boutique winders...I am pretty excited

Re: Glendal brass

Ya I have only heard a HB by BK. (nice) I have any fender type pups I want made for me by Copperhead pickups . Thats not to say anyone else should and IDK if they are any better than the next custom pup , but they are Canadian and Jeff will work with a persons ideas to provided them with what they require, if its possible.

I like em reasonable pricing also. Tele pups are not shown on the web site but he does make em, uses german silver for the (nickel platted) neck pup cover not brass.

And i do not care for hot either.
