Which Fender hardcase to buy?
Looking to pickup a Strat case... your suggestions?
I was able to sell a few things to get the scratch together for a nice vintage Fender hardcase for my USA Standard Stratocaster. With that said - which one to pick!?!?! What do you think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Which Fender hardcase to buy?
I've got a 'tweed-look' vinyl-covered case with a brownish plush lining that originally came with a Washburn Strat-style guitar. It's made in Canada, and is a nice case (although not quite like brand new) to be almost twenty years old. Externally, it is nearly perfect, but the padding inside is getting a tiny bit mushed down; it is still a great case, and it's made in North America!
I'd sell it for $50 plus shipping. PM me if you are interested. |

I like the new SKB that come with the standards these days. 90$ on ebay. light, strong & easy to open. Cat can't claw the shit out of it.

Re: Which Fender hardcase to buy?
From those choices I went with black tweed. As a matter of fact I bought one a few weeks ago as well as a brown tweed with a red interior. Both are very sharp looking and I like them very much.
At first I ordered the brown you linked earlier but didn't realize it was a tolex. Returned it and got this one instead. Very happy. ![]() |

Re: Which Fender hardcase to buy?
The tweed - in my opinion - gets dirty too quickly. Plus, the "tweed" gets caught on stuff and pulls out.
I am now also looking at the SKB Fender cases - the new ones that come with the American Standards. The G&G cases are great... I'm just wondering if they are worth $150.
