NGD- American Deluxe Strat V Neck
Picked this up using Craigslist, found a great deal. S-1 Switching, noiseless pups, v-neck. I got it in a real nice color. I had been between this and a Fender Hot Rod '57 Strat. I absolutely loved the '57 strat. But I was even more impressed with the Deluxe. Great guitar, one of the best I have ever played.
![]() I suggest this guitar to anyone looking for a high end strat, the craftsmanship and sound is comparable to CustomShop quality. And as I side note, if there is anyone viewing this thread who has never picked up a Fender guitar- do it. Not only will you never regret it, but you cherish it. Fender is a true gem brand name. The finish is Honey Blonde with Anodized Copper pickguard. srry for the low quality pics.

Re: NGD- American Deluxe Strat V Neck
Thanks. I love the S-1 switching. I was thinking of getting the HSS model, but I thought a strat with an humbucker looks weird, and remembered that the S-1 switching can get me the middle pickup in series with the bridge pickup, giving it a full humbucker sound. Its really great.
The guy said it was a Honey Blonde finish, and it looked almost like white with a gray tint in his pic, but when I saw it, it was a nice subtle tan. I love it!

Re: NGD- American Deluxe Strat V Neck
Nice guitar! White strats are awfully pretty. I've found the S1 to be a love hate relationship. Either people love them or hate them. Last year I purchased a new Am Deluxe without really playing with the S1 and found I didn't like it ad never used it. To my ears it sounded like a turd. Finally got tired of it and replaced all electronics w/RS vintage kit and new Fralin pups. Made the sound go from ok and thin to really nice, thick and warm.

Re: NGD- American Deluxe Strat V Neck
That indeed looks great. Theres just to many damn nice color combanations, gives me constant GAS for which there is only one medication, NGD-slow release.

Re: NGD- American Deluxe Strat V Neck
Nice guitar indeed. I have the V neck Deluxe in two tone sunburst. The V necks are to me the best feel. It's true most of us either love the S1 or don't use it. Honestly I don't use it. Same with the Noiseless pickups love or hate. I happen to like them. Truth is, like the electronics or not the Am Duluxe Strat is very well put together. The tuners are second to non. The "fit n finish" is in my opinion Custom Shop quality.
