Re: Vintage neck adjustment tele
Loosen the strings and unbolt the neck, lift it up out of the pocket just enough to get the screw driver in to adjust. then bolt it back down and re-tune to check relief.

Re: Vintage neck adjustment tele
I normally unscrew the pickguard and slide it off completely. Might need to move the d and g strings off to the side to get the tool in there comfortably.
edit- Tech said it best ^ while I was typing! |

Re: Vintage neck adjustment tele
I would assume because of the travel (and its cold as all hell) that I gained a bit of relief, its not bad but I like mine pretty close to straight. Probably 1/8 turn or so.

Re: Vintage neck adjustment tele
The proper way is to REMOVE THE NECK watch for any shims before ya take it off note where they are so you can return them. Not all are shimmed some are though. your welcome.

Re: Vintage neck adjustment tele
I slacked the strings put a capo on the first fret unbuttoned it broke the nitro loose, put a quarter turn on the neck and it is almost perfectly straight now. All put back together and tuned up in 5 minutes. Easier than I thought.
