I know I'm not the first to ask but...

Any pro tips to keep my strat in tune? It's a 2002 MIM standard Strat. I loosened the strings, and tightened the claw as much as possible. Tuned up, and the bridge is floating again!

I'm tuned to standard A440, use 12 gauge strings, and have three springs leading into the V shape.

I've searched YouTube, used the pencil led at the nut trick, and STILL HAVE TUNING ISSUES!

Anything will help. Thanks guys!

And yes, I have seen the expertvillage videos.

Re: I know I'm not the first to ask but...

On my Strats, I use 5 springs - the bridge is pretty much flush with the body (I don't use the trem bar at all) and I never have tuning issues. This is with 11s in Standard A440.

Get it set up. Any guitar tech worth his salt can get it to stay in tune. Put some graphite in the nut as well.

I have Sperzel locking tuners on my MIM and it never goes out of tune... ever. I only tune it when I change strings. And I abuse the trem too.

I don't like 5 springs in a Strat. It makes the trem not work the way I like it. I have four springs in mine. Two on each side and the middle part open.

I use 10-52s and have 5 on the back of mine trem is slammed to the body. Yiu can also get different strength springs for her.

Check the saddles, they can be trouble... I put graphtech saddles on one of mine and a Callaham bridge on the other.... They don't go out of tune with any ease!

If you are using 12s you should be using 4 or me springs IMO. Also try the graphite in the nut. A good setup should help too
