what is a fretless stratocaster

Some guy was selling a fretless USA stratocaster, what is that.

It's a strat with no frets.
Normally you see fretless (jazz) basses, I'm guessing thats because there aren't any frets on the normal bass.

Fretless guitars sound terrible to my ears. Very dull tone. There are some with metal fretboards that sound slightly better, but still... just doesn't do it for me.

that is what I figured it was, I know of fretless basses. But the pic he sent, the neck clearly had frets on it. Weird...!!!!!!!!

Where they frets or fret slots filled. Alot guys had frets removed and the slots filled . That way they still knew where to finger.
