So do I Cookie.

From a technical standpoint they really shouldn't be as good as they are being a bolt on an all but they sure do feel good and easy to play, even though the tone has been done to death by every Strat wielding yahoo, there is nothing like what it gives back when all is working and the world is full of beauty. That isn't shitting on LPs by any means 'cause it's apples and oranges, Lps are a different proposition altogether.

Thirded.

Can't say anything about lefty guitars umm... lefty, but I can say that although I love my American Standard, the RW is a couple of notches above it surprisingly enough. The mojo is faked sure enough but the guitar itself is a dream to play and my perfect Strat search is now at an end. Can't say better than that.

Fender love you say??? I got some FL for you right here...

The first. Highway One Blondie.

The second. Candy Cola American Standard (08 upgrade)

The third and fourth. "New" Road Worn and Hot Rod Deluxe.

Not quite up to you eleventy billion Fenders in your airing cupboard but at this moment I'm as happy as a clam.

Rick.

Edit: The camera flash really makes the red in the burst stand out. It is more subtle in person.

Fender's Tri-burst is my favorite finish out there.
Aww shucks dice, dunno about that. Yours is a pretty damned good looking axe too. Like you, the burst was the much better of the two available. Really felt the business, was hard to put down and try the black one, I think that says a lot. The cosmetics were secondary to me too, actually I wanted to not like the Road Worns but when a guitar speaks to you, you have to obey otherwise the regret can be damaging to one's health. How many times have we heard about someone trying a guitar and going away to think about it only to go back to the store to find a space on the wall where it used to be.

I'll second that. The more guitars I've played and owned, the more I realize that the "neck joint" doesn't mean a damned thing in terms of whether a guitar is going to be a winner or a dog...

It's a real head scratcher isn't it? All I know is I love playing all of my guitars, it really helps with dragging the old bone bag out of bed every morning, gotta have something to look forward to.

Well that and the possibility of seeing an attractive female.

Rick.

A damn shame indeed. I'll just have to see if I can cope with the woeful Fender QC.

Rick.

P.S. Thanks, it sure is nice to play.

Thanks to all for playing along, gotta love NGD, it's mostly why we're all here.

Now there are two relics in the house, me and the road worn.

I'll be doing a Muck Fe vid post for the backstage in a day or two so you will be able to hear the RW there, sort of 'cause Youtube compression sucks the proverbial.

Come to think of it, I'll do a comparo vid of the RW and the AmStd that I'll post in here, stay tuned for that, I'm sure that'll be real exciting.

I'll play through the new Hot Rod Deluxe for those interested.

Rick.

Edit: I forgot the link to a heap more pics of the "new" guitar in my profile here... http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/memb...orn-strat.html

You know, the only amp I have now is a Fender Hot Rod De ville. Bloody super amp and lovely with any Fender guitar. Or any bloody guitar for that matter!

You know Cookie, I had a DeVille when they first came out and it was a real shitbox.

Couldn't get a decent tone out of it no matter how much hair I pulled from me scone.

Glad yours is a good one, this new Deluxe is killer so far.
